The Saga: July 25th

This past weekend was a wild ride for every Immortals fan as we picked up achievements in every game we compete in.  Immortals made huge strides in League of Legends, CS:GO, Vainglory, and Smash.  There’s never been a better time to be part of the #IMTeam.  Even if you missed out on these amazing games or didn’t realize what we’ve been up to, we’ve got your back—The Saga is here to fill you in and get you back up to speed.  Trust us, you don’t want to miss out on these fantastic games.

League

tl;dr: Immortals go 2-0, taking down FlyQuest and Counter Logic Gaming.  We are now uncontested for first!
Recommended Match: IMT v CLG, Game 3

This weekend was important for us; if we won both of our games, we’d reclaim uncontested first place.  It wasn’t always easy.  We dropped our first game against a furious FlyQuest, and had to reverse sweep them to pick up the first match of the weekend.  Counter Logic Gaming were also ready to fight hard, swapping their roster to pick up Game 2.  Immortals still prevailed, picking up both series and claiming first place.  GG to FlyQuest and CLG, and we’ll be focusing on finishing off the regular season strong and heading into playoffs!

CS:GO

tl;dr: Immortals make it to the Grand Finals at the PGL Major Krakow 2017!
Recommended Match: Immortals v Virtus.pro

Immortals’ CS:GO squad used to dream of making a Major, until we earned our spot at Krakow.  Not only did we attend our first Major, but we made it all the way to the finals, surprising everyone and proving that we had the fire you need to succeed.  While we fell against Gambit in the Grand Finals, we’re beyond proud of our CS:GO squad and the success they earned at their first Major.  This is just the beginning, and we’re looking forward to continuing to prove ourselves.

Vainglory

tl;dr: Immortals re-earn their spot in the Vainglory 8!
Recommended Match: Immortals v NRG

After getting knocked out of the VG8, we made some tough choices and rebuilt our roster around young, focused talent, while keeping the core of DNZio and head coach SuiJeneris.  Our hard work and decisions paid off; we made it through Challenge Battles and back into the Vainglory 8.  While we’re proud of this progress, we’re not planning to stop and rest quite yet.  We’ll be prepping to put up a much stronger performance this time around, and contest for the top spot.

Smash

tldr: ANTi takes 5th place at DreamHack Atlanta!
Recommended Match: ANTi (Cloud) v Samsora (Peach)

Just when you least expect it, ANTi slides back into the Top 8 with some killer performances.  At DreamHack Atlanta 2017, he played Cloud, Mario, and Zero Suit Samus against an array of opponents, and earned a top 5 finish for his efforts.  He still hasn’t reached his final form, but he’s still a contender capable of surprising everyone at a tournament.  GG to everyone ANTi faced at Dreamhack, and we’re excited to see what he (and Shroomed) pull off at Get On My Level in Toronto!
